The training almost shook my view of the supply chain, namely, it encouraged me to look broader and further beyond my "narrow field". I embraced the idea that forecasting, procurement, production, and sales can effectively pursue a common goal rather than fight each other. It was interesting to hear examples from other companies, where it turns out things can be done differently.

The year 2013 marked the beginning of our company's cooperation with MPM Productivity Management. During one of our internal logistics meetings, our then manager, Paulina Jurkiewicz, told us about the training conducted by MPM. She mentioned that it was something between training and postgraduate studies. Their program encompasses comprehensive production management, not focusing on just one area but showing the entire picture of dependencies between departments within the company.

The suggestion to participate in these training sessions from our supervisor was met with positivity. Several individuals from different departments participated in the first BSCM classes according to the APICS methodology. Among the participants were engineers, specialists, and managerial staff.

During the training sessions, we learned about the dependencies between various departments. For example, understanding the needs of production in relation to our logistical needs. To facilitate cooperation within the organization, we also learned to understand customer needs. These training sessions reinforced our knowledge, gave us a new perspective, and opened our eyes to many aspects. Participants also recognized another strong aspect of the training: examples from other companies presented by the trainers. This gave us the opportunity to compare ourselves with other factories.

The impressive experience of the trainers left a lasting impression on us and motivated us to pursue further education. Their knowledge was conveyed in a friendly manner, accompanied by a great sense of humor. There was no perceived distance between the teacher and the students, a common occurrence in such settings. A friendly atmosphere enveloped us from the outset of the training, fostering interaction. The trainers frequently introduced elements of debate and engaged us in discussions by posing questions like, "How is this done in your company?"

Additionally, it was pleasing that following the initial visit and diagnosis at our factory, the trainers incorporated internal terminology and specific phrases during the training sessions. For instance, the use of "being in rupture," borrowed from French and meaning "out of stock," is a term unique to our factory and not commonly used elsewhere.

MPM training sessions provide a common language not only between departments within one company but also between different companies. Thanks to them, the rules and principles governing not only our, but also other companies are clearer to us. They allow us to better understand, for example, from our perspective, the demand planning process. Individual benefits of these trainings include a broader view of production and related processes - from the design phase, procurement, and setting conditions, to sales to the customer.

Currently, several people in our company have completed the entire APICS cycle, while others are in the process of learning. Both of us belong to the group that has completed 5 modules and are looking for further training opportunities offered by MPM Productivity Management. However, we are not interested in certification; here, knowledge is the most important and sufficient for further professional development.

We extend our best wishes to MPM Productivity Management for continued success. While it's often said that there's always room for improvement, MPM's exceptional standards leave little to be desired. We hope the company maintains its outstanding level of service. We also wish for further victories in the GC SCM competitions and more podium finishes. May MPM continue to achieve visible success in the market and receive many more positive references from clients.
